Pavlov's Flies

I don't know what I find more interesting - the discovery of Pavlov's dogs with names AND pictures, or the related article on Pavlov's FLIES! This article describes research studies where scientists identified another large group of candidate memory genes that are either switched on or off in the fly brain during memory formation. "The study is significant in part because many of the fruit fly genes it uncovered have counterparts in humans. Because these genes might be involved in human learning and memory, they may be important for understanding human memory deficit disorders such as Alzheimer's disease."

Ant Mimic

A spider that mimics an ant, how cool is that? As exciting as the Salticidae semaphore dance which I need to track down.
